Update: What I find interesting about PP’s lawsuit against student journalist Lila Rose is that it appears that they have no true legal recourse. So did they get bad legal advice or are they trying to scare other people from doing the same?
I’ve linked to this before, but you had to drill through a couple websites to get to it. This is the audio from actual conversations with Planned Parenthood. A caller claims to be a 13 yr. old girl with a 22 yr. old boyfriend and she wants an abortion. The PP representatives have no desire to help her other than giving her an abortion. One PP rep even said, “We’ve never reported anybody,” even though by law they must report statutory rape. Chillingly evil.
Hat tip: Confessions of a Recovering Pharisee - great blog – check it out!
And still PP rationalizes that they are there to help women! Working to keep rapists on the street is an odd way to show it.
Then there is this little video they published to “educate” children. You can really feel the love and tolerance, especially when the “heroine” puts the Senator in a vat of acid. I wonder why the MSM didn’t pick up on this? Do you think they would have if the roles had been reversed?
Here’s my handy summary of Planned Parenthood here.
Speaking of helping women, MFP (My Favorite Pachyderm) has a great post on the myth that abortion is good for women.

Their name is rather ironic. The sad thing is most of the young ladies who go there have no idea what they are doing. My mom has led a Bible Study for Women of Rama that is for women who have had abortions. Many of them are victims of lies.
Kevin, blessings to your mom for being there for those women! Post-abortion trauma counseling really makes a difference. Many times they were victimized by lies and boyfriends/husbands/parents who pushed them to have an abortion they didn’t want. Then they have to live with the guilt and shame.
“Their name is rather ironic.”
Only in this context. Don’t forget that one of the big
arguments for abortion was that all babies should be wanted (which in many instance could equate to planned).
However, at this point, I adopt the Homer Simpson view on this issue. “Planned? Planned? You don’t plan a baby, they just happen.”

Of course. If you aren’t wanted by your parents, the best thing to do is to kill you. Likewise, if you aren’t wanted by your high school peers, someone should just put you out of your misery.

AACCCKKK. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that “babies just happen,” and it makes my stomach curdle. I mean, are these the same people who keep telling me that I should just have sex anyway, because a condom will take care of everything? Then, when a baby comes along, they act all surprised.
One of the big problems with the “safe, legal, and rare” philosophy is that nothing which is entirely safe, entirely legal, available, and inexpensive is EVER going to be rare. If you want abortion to be rare, you have to make it expensive, unsafe, or illegal.
So yes, pro-choicers: if we want to reduce abortions, we are going to educate people about the fact that they are NOT safe, neither for the body nor for the psyche and we will try to make them illegal. (We can’t really change the price of them, but we can hope that they will not be available, as doctors won’t want to perform them.)
Rant over.
Thanks for the link, Neil!

Not a fan of the Simpsons…lol.
Well despite being told my wife could never had a baby and her being on birth control our daughter was conceived- thank God because she is such a blessing.
We had only been married for two months before she got pregnant. So we didn’t have a real chance to enjoy newly married childless life. But looking back, I wouldn’t trade this for the world. I don’t remember many times in my life when I was happier than the time I spend with my daughter.
BTW, When we actually have a baby that we have planned I’ll let you know. But we have kind of adopted the position now of, we aren’t using B/C because of what it does to her, and whatever happens, happens. After all, if you wait to have children until you can afford them you’ll never have them…lol.
I love how Ms Dionysus acknowledges that the demonstrators have a first amendment right to express their opinion and then blasts them anyway.
Also interesting that she sends them to PP, rather than their family physician for medical advice.

Great quote – I’ll use it in a piece on the “safe, legal and rare” myth set to post next week.
Thank you.
I was considering doing a “safe, legal, and rare” piece for my series, but decided that all I had to say was about a paragraph long. It’s all yours!
