Fast food progressive dinner

friesOK, now for something really important.  Have you ever done a progressive fast food dinner?  It is like a regular progressive dinner where you go to one family’s house for appetizers, then another for the main course, etc.  But in this case you go to multiple fast food locations to accommodate everyone in the car (or yourself).

What would your favorites be?

My current choices would be:

  • Jack in the Box chicken strips
  • McDonald’s fries
  • McDonald’s yogurt parfait
  • Dairy Queen strawberry shake

(Our Sunday School class just had a regular progressive dinner.  Lots of fun.  But no McDonald’s fries.)

  1. Well, as I don’t eat fast food (except for Subway, because that has vegetarian fare), I’m not sure I could do this. Assuming that I can be on either coast, I would go for a Carl’s Jr. shake, Subway sandwich (veggie delight or veggie burger), and some more chocolate to end it all off. :)

  2. We did the multiple fast-food thing a couple of times when our grandsons were with us last summer.

I like Subway’s black forest ham (sorry Theo), but they can’t tell me why they call it black forest ham. We are a small community so our choices are limited, besides Subway, we have McDonald’s and Hardees. We also have the sole surviving location of an old regional chain called Just-Rite. Their trademark “Big J” is very good and they have great fries, and they serve strawberry Mountain Dew.

Ha! A preview of our day tomorrow as we embark to Nashville. Subway is a family favorite and the only consensus pick. The kids (4) are usually divided on Taco Bell and McDonald’s.
Neil, I’m with you on the french fries from McDonald’s, but imho, Wendy’s fries are right up there.

    Chipolte: Chicken or Veggie Burrito
Diet Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper

After a Chipolte burrito, one does not have room for dessert, but I’ll list one for posterity sake:
Ted Drewes Concrete – a St. Louis Classic
If you are ever in St. Louis, Ted Drewes is a must stop!

    (Burp!) ;)

  4. Ooh, this sounds fun!

If this is based in reality, that is, places actually accessible from my house, I would do:

Carl’s Jr: Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger
    McDonalds: French Fries
    Chik-Fil-At: Cookies and Creme Shake

However, if I was doing an all-nation fast food, I would get my burger and fries from In-N-Out (West Coast), or I would get a meal at Taco Bueno (OK, North Texas, East Kansas). I would still get the shake from Chik-Fil-A.

  5. I didn’t realize Chipotle was considered fast food, but as the blog owner I officially decree that it qualifies. That would definitely be a contender for me. We just went there on Sunday. Mmmmmm . . . Burrito Bowl.

  6. My husband LOVES to do this! It only works if the places are all together…sometimes you get finished and something is cold or almost there? LOL

  7. Its usually tacos from Jack in the Box…onion rings from Whataburger (sorry deprived Northerners you can only get that in Tx) and a double stacker from Wendy’s

  8. Sometimes, when I’m running around between hospitals, I will grab a grilled snack wrap from McDonald’s because I was too lazy to bring a sandwich from home, AND they’re under $2.00. Other than that, I am drawing a blank when it comes to fast food. I haven’t eaten any in years.

The only other thing I can think of was several years ago, I had a salad from Wendy’s (I think) that was sort or Mexicany-themed. I recall enjoying it – it had corn on it and some kind of funky dressing. So I guess one of those from Wendy’s would be nice, and a snack wrap from McDonalds? Are there other fast food places?

Oh – Boston Market. It’s coming back now. I ate creamed spinach there once. Yum!

So, what do you think?
