Liberal Democrats have repeatedly failed minorities — Yep.  Liberals have had virtual monopolies on inner city politics and schools for over 50 years.  Detroit is their petri dish.  Anyone want to move there?  Great deals on real estate!

Gynecologists in Spain plan to choose jail before performing an abortion – Who do they think they are?  What makes them think they should have a choice about abortion?  Don’t worry, the removal of conscience clauses are coming soon to a country near you.

Multimillionaire Michael Moore says capitalism did nothing for him

Consider this a complement to Hollywood going to bat for Polanski: In both cases, you’ve got “artists” so insulated by egotism, sycophancy, and self-righteousness that they simply can’t grasp that average people are looking on aghast at what they’re saying. No one with even a child’s sense of shame would defend a child-rapist or demonize a system he’s used to line his own pockets, and yet, somehow, here we are.

Blog post title of the week: Palin’s Book Makes Number One on Amazon; Left-Wingers Make Number Two in Their Jeans

Ann Coulter annihilates the canard that “America’s low ranking on international comparisons of infant mortality proves other countries’ socialist health care systems are better than ours.”

One factor contributing to the U.S.’s infant mortality rate is that blacks have intractably high infant mortality rates — irrespective of age, education, socioeconomic status and so on. No one knows why.

By excluding the little guys, these countries have simply redefined about one-third of what we call “infant deaths” in America as “miscarriages.”

Apart from the fact that we count — and try to save — all our babies, infant mortality is among the worst measures of a nation’s medical care because so much of it is tied to lifestyle choices, such as the choice to have children out of wedlock, as teenagers or while addicted to crack.

Also contributing to the higher mortality rate of U.S. newborns: Peter Singer lives here.

But I think it’s terrific that liberals are finally willing to start looking at outcomes to judge a system. I say we start right away with the public schools!

Funny stuff — Colbert vs. Richard Dawkins — It was mostly for humor, of course, but I enjoyed the ridiculousness of Dawkins’ answer about the existence of beauty.  He gave his question-begging “we evolved to be able to see it” answer but (deliberately?) ignored the fact that there is no more grounding for true beauty in a Darwinian model than there is for morality.

Joe Isuzu and the health care plan

Who remembers Joe Isuzu, the pathological liar in some funny car commercials?  He would make outrageous claims while the subtitles read He’s lying.

I thought of him when processing the lies from the health care reform proponents.  Everyone can slip at times and make mistakes, but with enough time and experience you learn if you can trust people.  These folks have failed to be honest repeatedly and in major, indisputable ways.  I’ll just focus on three of them.

1. Abortion — as I noted in Of course the health care bill includes abortion, if the bill didn’t have (barely) hidden abortion coverage, why wouldn’t pro-abortion groups be lobbying for its inclusion?   This is the mother-of-all-health-care-bills and we’re to believe that these groups who live for unrestricted abortion rights are going to sit idly by and not have any coverage?  They have always insisted that abortion is part of “reproductive health,” so why would they sit out this discussion and campaign so aggressively for the bill?  I’m insulted that they expect us to believe that.

If it doesn’t cover abortions, then why was there opposition to an amendment to have abortions explicitly excluded?

The most amazing rationalization I heard for opposition to an anti-abortion amendment is that it would be redundant with the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal funds from being used for abortions.  Even if that claim were true (it isn’t — they have every plan to get rid of Hyde, which is renewed annually) it would be laughable.  Consider their overall message: “The bill is 1,000+ pages and we haven’t even read it, but we are so compulsive that we couldn’t stand to have one paragraph with a redundant anti-abortion rule.”

Anyone believe that?

2. Coverage for illegal immigrants – Obama was emphatic that the plan didn’t cover illegals, which was only true in a hyper-technical sense.  But amendments to add a simple ID check have repeatedly failed, so who expects me to believe that they don’t intend for it to cover illegals?  (And yes, I know they get care today in emergency rooms and such.  My point is that the proponents are lying).

3. Single payer — just watch this clip and know that you’ve been lied to repeatedly when they say they want to increase competition and don’t plan to have a single payer system:

Three big lies, and that’s just for starters.  You don’t even need to see the subtitles to know it.

While we’re on the ACORN and Roman Polanski topics . . .

. . . wouldn’t this be a good time to remind everyone how Planned Parenthood aggressively covers up statutory rape and how an Obama “czar” coached a 15 year old boy to stay in a physical relationship with an older man he met at a bus station?

Just as with ACORN, Planned Parenthood pretended that the first video of a volunteer / employee coaching a young girl to hide statutory rape was an isolated incident.  Wrong.  Dozens and dozens of these encounters have been recorded on video and audio.  This has been going on for many years.  And we’re not talking about 18 yr. old guys and 16 yr. old girls.  The examples used are usually more like 32 and 13.

But Planned Parenthood is getting smarter, though not more ethical.  They posted Lila Rose’s picture so clinic counselors would know if she came in (Rose isn’t stupid, though.  I’m sure she filmed all the spots then start posting them).  That is classic. I wonder if the caption says, “Do not hide statutory rapists for this girl.  But keep up the standard practice for the rest of the underaged victims.”

Your tax dollars at work, people!  Hundreds of millions of dollars every year.

Now on to Kevin Jennings, Obama’s “safe schools czar.”  Read this article about how Jennings first tried to deny that he had encouraged a boy to stay with an older man, then became silent on the issue when audio evidence came up that demonstrated he was lying.  Did Obama’s team not investigate Jennings well enough (which would be bad) or did they know this and approve him anyway (which would be really bad)?

Much more on Jennings here.

BTW, Roman Polanski should pay for his crimes.  Regardless of what Whoopi says, statutory rape is still rape.  The guy drugged and raped a 13-year-old!  And he was unrepentant.  He is lucky to be alive.  And how pathetic yet unsurprising that so many Hollywood types are trying to defend him.  If you have the stomach for it, read this article detailing what he did to this poor girl, along with the nauseating defenses offered by some of the most immoral “artistic” people you’ll ever come across.
