For the record, I thought that President Bush spent way too much money. But even more for the record, consider these projected deficits. They make the Bush spending look like break-even years — and this is before the atrocious health care bill.

I know Obama likes to blame Bush for all his problems, even though that is 180 degrees off his campaign rhetoric, counter to what past Presidents have done and just plain immature. But if this is the best Obama can do I’d rather have Bush back.
Hat tip: Democrats Consider Plans To Lower Deficit They Created
One picture doesn’t say it all. The collapse of our economy has resulted in far less tax revenue, which is a big part of the cause of the huge deficits. Then there’s unemployment payouts and the bailouts.
This recession was the result of Republican policies and Obama has every right to state its cause — especially since right-wingers are trying to blame all the failures of the Bush administration on Obama. Or Clinton. Or Carter.
Nice try. Guess who controlled Congress the two year before Obama was elected? The Democrats, including Obama! And their hands were all over the financial fiasco — ACORN, Fannie / Freddie, etc.
And if we have less tax revenue, the cure is giving more entitlements, right? Only in Liberal Land.
Glanced at your blog and noted this gem:
Actually, Right-wingers know science, including the fact that a new human life is created at conception — http://tinyurl.com/yfje8lq . Even Planned Parenthood knows abortion kills babies — http://tinyurl.com/ykeex9 — they just kept quiet about it once they realized how profitable the death business is.
That fetus you refer to is a human fetus. “Compassionate” Liberals think it is OK to crush and dismember her if she is getting in way of anyone’s finances, career, love life or just general happiness.
Well, there is a little more to say.
The growth of entitlement spending is as worrisome as the deficit.
Mowing down half the federal budget today, entitlements are devouring our vitality from the other end.
Hi Smitty — great graph, thanks! The current spending is absolutely unsustainable. And increasing taxes to meet the gap can’t work either. It would kill so many jobs that you’d never get there.
Liberals are doing their best to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Capitalism rocks, even with its hard edges, and it is so good that even when politicians do stupid things it is resilient. But everything has limits.
Capitalism does indeed rock. This is a truth claim that I almost posted in my comments on your latest thread. We know from history that capitalism is at the least, the least harmful economic system. The argument goes on, but that truth is really indisputable.
Bush has to take some heat for the problems we now encounter if only for his refusal to use that veto pen on stupid liberal notions. Plus, he did, at the end, list to the left with his own stimulus and bail outs.
But to lay all blame at his feet is simply a lie. As you say, BO was there to vote against Bush’s plans, but I don’t think he did where it came to spending our money. Sure, he may have voted “present”, but if you don’t vote against a bad idea, you are supporting it. Obama didn’t “inherit this mess”, he helped to create it.
The verdict is in, the California model of High Taxes has failed, while the low tax model of texas is an all out success.
