Roundup of stuff the Old Media won’t tell you about

Visit Certain News Sites? Obama Wants To Know – Why isn’t the ACLU going nuts over this?

Big Brother Obama wants to know what news sites you visit. And he is having the justice department subpoena news sites to find out.

The world is upside down, morally speaking.  Newsweek: Terrorist Attack on Fort Hood was bad because it will spark conservative hatred

13 soldiers died at Fort Hood, and Newsweek’s Evan Thomas is concerned about “right wing fears.”

Appearing on NPR, he said, “I cringe that he’s a Muslim. I mean, because it inflames all the fears.”

NPR’s Nina Totenberg agreed, saying, “It really is tragic that he was a Muslim.”

Oh, really? I thought it was tragic that he killed 13 people.

Would it be better if he was an anti-abortion activist, so that you could inflame left wing fears about “domestic terrorism”?

Hat tip: Jill Stanekterror

Multiple lies from Obama & Co. on abortion and the health care bill – They don’t care what pro-lifers say.  They have every intention of sneaking it back into the bill.  This would not be the status quo, it would be the first time Federal funds would be used to pay for abortions.  Obama always claimed the bill wouldn’t cover abortions, so why does he oppose the Stupak amendment?

I know pro-aborts really like abortion, but does it ever bother them to have to lie so much to get their way?  Apparently not.

Over 90% of Down Syndrome children still being aborted — Tragic.  Morally schizophrenic and tragic.

I love when atheists bring up the “Jesus didn’t exist argument.” It is so easy to use the minimal facts approach and put the burden back on them.

I just point to the virtually unanimous position of historical scholars who agree that he lived. If the atheists want to form positions in opposition to historical facts then that is their problem. It quickly disarms them.

I also like to point out how even skeptics like the Jesus Seminar concede so many of the minimal facts. To come up with the theory that Jesus’ body was eaten by dogs, people like John Dominic Crossan unwittingly point to the significant evidence for not only the resurrection but the empty tomb. I submit that the physical resurrection accounts for the same facts Crossan appears to trust. I just find that the resurrection is a much more logical explanation.

  1. Sorry to jump on another topic, but my brother told me last night about Obama’s “buy insurance or go to jail” section of his plan. Has anyone heard about this?

    • Yes. That is one of the details they are trying not to publicize. What the MSM won’t tell you is that the majority of LEGAL citizens that do not have insurance do not have it by choice. IE they opt out of coverage even though they are offered it. Obama wants to make that a fine-able offense, to the tune of $4,000/year.

How is that not a violation of a person’s rights?

  2. Visit Certain News Sites? Obama Wants To Know – Why isn’t the ACLU going nuts over this?

This subpoena never made it to the federal justice department. What link does this have to Obama? Apparently the subpoena violated rules and was withdrawn.

I know pro-aborts really like abortion

    No they don’t.

  3. The Jesus didn’t exist argument is seriously a joke. Walk Away or start laughing next time someone brings it up.

Or better yet — send them to your nearest Mosque. LOL. That will teach them.

  4. This is what Ryan is referring to:

Update 1:59pm E.T.: A Justice Department official familiar with this subpoena just told me that the attorney general’s office never saw it and that it had not been submitted to the department’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. for review. If that’s correct, it suggests that U.S. Attorney Tim Morrison and Assistant U.S. Attorney Doris Pryor did not follow department regulations requiring the “express authorization of the attorney general” for media subpoenas — and it means that neither Attorney General Eric Holder nor Acting Attorney General Mark Filip were involved. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an internal investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility; my source would not confirm or deny that.

Sounds like a case of “cover our butts”. This kind of thing goes on all the time. Don’t tell me Holder didn’t know about this. Besides, whether they saw it or not, several of IndyMedia’s servers were yanked from their ISP and turned over to the FBI. They have not been told why. This has the Obama administration’s fingerprints all over it even if they’ve gone to lengths to make sure no links back to them could be traced. At a minimum it shows a severe lack of organizational control.

  5. Regarding aborting Down Syndrome children, my wife is a special needs teacher. One year she had about 5 Down students (middle school). These were some of the best students she ever had. We built a relationship with the kids and the parents. Now they are turning 18 and we’ve been invited to some birthday parties. These kids are great.

    The parent’s don’t know what they’re missing.

    • Down’s Syndrome kids are truly a joy in every way. On that note, I’d like to share this. My son is not a Down’s Syndrome child, but has many special needs and our challenged are often similar to the ones faced by Down’s parents.

A story was told to us by one of the nurses we met in a hospital, and I tell it to every parent of a special needs child. When you are expecting a child, especially your first, you have wild expectations, and whether you like it or not, you map out that child’s life in your mind. Things you’ll do together, and things you’ll teach him.

Imagine yourself on an airplane, on your way to Paris (insert any place you’ve always wanted to visit). You’ve though about going to Paris your whole life You know what museums you want to see, and you can’t wait to climb the Eiffel Tower. You wait with eager anticipation as the plane come in for a landing, but things don’t look as they seem. The pilot comes on over the PA system and announces that you have arrived, but not in Paris. You have landed in Holland. There’s no way to change your trip, and no connecting flights available. You are devastated. No Eiffel Tower, no Louvre, no croissants. There’s nothing you can do about it, so you step off the plane, and although your plans have been changed, you soon realize that Holland is beautiful too, and has just as much to do and see.

      • Ryan, that is a beautiful illustration. Thanks for sharing that. I wish parents in those situations would visit with someone like you before choosing death.

So, what do you think?
