Michelle Malkin explains how the left regularly fakes hate crimes — don’t be gullible when you hear about these.  Yes, there is hate — but it is on both sides, and you only hear about one side from the mainstream media and they “forget” to tell you about all the fakes.

And what about real hate speech that called for the murder of the President?  Oh, that was a different President so it doesn’t count.

And can you remember the Old Media ever publishing these sort of photos during Bush’s eight years in office? Nope, me neither.

And did anyone notice how the anti-war rallies have ceased — or at least ceased to be covered by the media?  But doesn’t President Obama preside over those wars?  It this like how the homeless problem was cured the instant Bill Clinton took office?

Star Parker is running for Congress in California — Yea!

In Uncle Sam’s Plantation: How Big Government Enslaves America’s Poor and What We Can Do About It, Parker traced the shift in America’s attitude from a belief in strong families and hard work to the flawed idea that the government’s role is to solve social problems.

A nice summary of Bible reading tips I came across on another blog.  Just add “always read in context” and you’re off to a good start.

1. The specific trumps the general,
2. The genre where a verse is found matters; example: Proverbs describes general trends, rather than iron-clad guarantees; Leviticus is a book of law of ancient Israel
3. Novel interpretations are frowned upon; it’s unlikely if not impossible that the church, to whom Jesus promised that the gates of hell won’t prevail over, would miss something completely after all these years.
4. The clear interprets the unclear.
5. Some parts of the bible may be unclear by design! I believe that God purposefully is vague with regard to what the afterlife will be like, in order to keep us from ignoring this life. And not all questions are answered by the bible.

Wait, Obama used to claim that they weren’t aiming at universal health care.  He must have been misquoted here.  But you can totally trust him that his Executive Order about abortions will stand.

The Left’s shrill cries about potential violence and alleged racist comments (still no evidence, BTW) are really tiresome.  Both sides have freaks, but the media reporting is hopelessly one sided.  Bart Stupak had plenty of threats when he was pretending to be on the pro-life side, but those weren’t widely reported.  Read the link for many more examples.

Obama’s Executive Order is Invalid — But everyone knew that, right?  At least Planned Parenthood knows it.  Faux-lifers like Sojourners pretend it means something, but they are bad actors.

Another faux-lifer / pro-abortion “social gospel” person — she claimed that “Nobody lobbies for powerless little children, other than the “social justice” people!” which is false enough by itself, but she doesn’t lobby for powerless little unborn children.  They consider this to be justice.

She also said, “The question the Social Justice Christians ask, IMO, is “what must I DO to be saved”?”  I pointed out that the question was asked and answered in the Bible in the story of the Philippian jailer:

Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30–31, ESV)

That is the opposite answer of what she gave.  So there’s another “social justice” person teaching a false gospel.

Poor in America — not what you think — I’m all for helping the poor.   The problem is that Liberal solutions usually create more truly poor people.  And many of those in power have a vested interest in inflating the number of poor.

If poverty means lacking nutritious food, adequate warm housing, and clothing for a family, relatively few of the 35 million people identified as being “in poverty” by the Census Bureau could be characterized as poor. Moreover, the United States can readily reduce its remaining poverty, especially among children. The main causes of child poverty are low levels of parental work and high numbers of single-parent families. By increasing work and marriage, our nation can virtually eliminate remaining child poverty.

Go read about how many of the “poor” in America have houses, cars, TVs, adequate nutrition, more living space than most Europeans, and more.  If you’ve been around the world on mission trips and such you know what real poverty is.

Girl Scouts Distribute Planned Parenthood Sex Guide at UN Meeting — PP is such a sick, creepy organization.  Your tax dollars at work, folks.  How did the Girl Scouts stoop so low to permit this sort of thing?

The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations this week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concludes this week.

Happy, Healthy and Hot The brochure, aimed at young people living with HIV, contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms.  The brochure claims, “Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse… But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!” The brochure goes on to encourage young people to “Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them.”

I do agree with Planned Parenthood that “An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun.” At least that was their view in a 1964 brochure, before they figured out how lucrative abortions would be.

It is amazing how these communicable disease rates would be extended-play front page news if they belonged to any other group.
The data, presented at CDC’s 2010 National STD Prevention Conference, finds that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women.
The rate of primary and secondary syphilis among MSM is more than 46 times that of other men and more than 71 times that of women, the analysis says.

Political correctness is agreeing with things you know aren’t true because you want to be more accepted.  It is selfish and cowardly.  If the pro-gay theology crowd really cared about gays they’d teach what the word of God says and they’d work to reduce these disease rates.

The health care proposal is so bad that it even got the Hillbuzz gang back to church to pray.  They see that this isn’t just about a monstrosity of a health care bill.  They know it is the gateway to pass all sorts of other awful legislation that could destroy the country.

Outstanding health care roundup by Haemet. Loved this quote from the WSJ:

The president has one set of Congressional Budget Office cost projections, based on terribly misleading assumptions developed by Congress and the White House, that show it’s possible to provide health-care coverage to 30 million more people, while reducing overall costs and the federal deficit. If that projection makes any sense at all, then it’s too bad we don’t have 60 million uninsured so that we could save twice as much money.

“Outraged atheists lose faith in Dawkins as he censors website”

This may be occasion for presenting Richard Dawkins with the Can Dish it Out But Cannot Take it award . . . Richard Dawkins has literally built the New Atheist movement upon vociferously pouring down abusive language based derision upon anyone who dares to disagree with him and now…the monster which he created, nurtured and let lose upon the word has come home to roost. Actually, it has come home to burn down the laboratory of its creator.

Dawkins promulgates the mere that I, a Jew, am to be likened to a Holocaust denier because I doubt that human beings are related to “bananas and turnips” and he takes offence at an admittedly uncalled for description of his visage. Please get over yourself professor.

The Mail notes the case of one boy who has already been placed on such a registry for calling another pupil a “gay boy.” The mother of ten year-old Peter Drury, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was told that her son’s name would be placed on a register and permanent school record following a complaint about the comment by another student.

Pathetic race-baiting by the Huffington Post – a  friend posted that link on his Facebook account.  My responses:

Fact: The candidates you support oppose school choice, because they like union donations more than black children. That’s racism.

Fact: The candidates you support keep abortion legal and it kills blacks at a rate three times that of whites. See where Planned Parenthood puts their clinics. Investigate Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was a eugenicist that paid off black preachers to encourage them to have their members sterilized, among other things. She wanted to eliminate the undesirables. Abortions kill more blacks in a day over and above whites than the KKK ever dreamed of. That’s racism.

Fact: The candidates you support profit by keeping blacks poor and uneducated. That’s racism.

Fact: People like you use blacks as some sort of trump card so you can scream RAAAAACISM whenever you are losing the debates (which, apparently, is always). That’s racism.

Hey, have you visited Detroit lately? It is a petri dish of Liberal politics and education policies. Like other big cities, Democrats have had virtual monopolies for 50 years. How’s that working out for the black folks there?

Homework assignment: Watch MSNBC tonight — you know, the ones who scream RAAAAACIST all the time. Tell me how many black news people you see. I’ll wait here.

Of course not all atheists do such horrible things.  But it is interesting how the Times glosses over the motives and ignores the connection with the rhetoric of the New Atheists.  If they are going to blame the Bible every time a gay person is assaulted (as if the criminals usually just got out of a Focus on the Family “Love Won Out” conference) then they’d have to pin this on the New Atheists and the bullying of overweight children on Michelle Obama.

All a-Twitter about abortion

Recently, Tampa native Angie Jackson decided to post her observations regarding her abortion on Twitter. Jackson tweeted (the use of which as a verb still disturbs me, but that is irrelevant) regular updates as the RU-486 (mifiprex) pills she took worked to terminate her pregnancy.

It is grossly apparent that Angie Jackson misses the crux of the debate.

Her appeal is largely to autonomy. The assumption that the unborn is not a human being is unmistakable.

“I am having an abortion…right now,” Jackson informs her audience.

“It’s basically like a miscarriage,” she says. She doesn’t clarify what she means, and such a claim demands clarification.  The terms “miscarriage” and “abortion” (as she is using it) exist on starkly different sides of a fence called “deliberate.”

“This is the best choice,” she says.

She’s right — if the unborn are not human.

“I just want to let everybody know that you too can have an abortion if you want one,” she says.

She’s right — if the unborn are not human.

“It’s okay.”

“It’s not shameful.”

She’s right — if the unborn are not human.

“It’s not killing a child.”

She’s right — if the unborn are not human.

A good quote to keep in mind, courtesy of Above Every Name:

“To be holiest in evil times, is an indication of the truth of Grace. To profess religion when times favorite it, is no great matter. Almost all will court the Gospel Queen when she is hung with jewels. But to own the ways of God when they are decried and maligned, to love a persecuted truth – this evidences a vital principle of goodness. Dead fish swim downstream – living fish swim against it. To swim against the common stream of evil, shows grace to be alive.”

Planned Parenthood caught on video hiding statutory rape. . . . again (and again . . . )

In the video, after hearing the girl is 14 and her boyfriend is “much older,” the counselor says whether or not the situation will be reported by clinic workers “depends on the person you’re disclosing that information to.” When the girl says that her boyfriend is 31, the counselor tells her, “You don’t have to say anything” about the statutory rape and instructs her, “Just give them the information that’s needed.” The counselor also confirms that the 31-year-old “boyfriend” will be paying for the abortion.

These are not isolated occurrences.  They have been well documented across the country on audio and video for years.  What is the solution of our political leaders?  Give Planned Parenthood lots more money! There is something horribly wrong with these people (Planned Parenthood and the politicians).  Even pro-choicers should oppose statutory rape.

See Mark’s review on Tactics - A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions

This book was not only extremely informative about defending the Christian worldview by utilizing a sound and skillful argument, but it was quite convicting to me personally. . . . If you get frustrated or angry at those who argue for irrational conclusions, built around an argument entrenched in poor logic and indefensible conclusions disguised as science or secular philosophy, this book will change your entire approach. Paul reasoned and argued with anyone he could find at the synagogues, he did not call them names or dismiss them as simply “morons” – my favorite name calling tactic . . . Koukl’s book reminded me, I as a believer – must be obedient to God and that calls us to be ambassadors for Christ, not ambassadors of our own personal likes and dislikes. We must remember, our arguments and positions are not built on a foundation of personal opinions, but rather God’s eternal word. Science, reason, and logic are all on God’s side.
