Roundup of stories you’ll wish were from The Onion (Kudos to uber-commenter Roxanne for inspiring the subtitle)
Planned Parenthood staffer caught advising ‘pimp’ with possible STD to donate blood – your tax dollars at work!
The full footage of the exchange between a Live Action undercover reporter and Planned Parenthood staff member in Roanoke revealed Planned Parenthood’s unusual STD screening recommendation.
After the “pimp” expresses concern that he might have contracted an STD, the staff member advises, “for peace of mind, go donate blood – cause if you go donate blood, they have to test for everything anyway. And you know, a lot of plasma places, they’ll test you for free … And they pay you for your plasma. You know what I mean?”
The staff member also indicates that this is something she tells “a lot of people.”
In a blog entry posted yesterday on the organization’s website, Live Action CFO and Media Director David Schmidt writes, “Today I called a couple blood donation centers and asked them if was good advice for people who think they might have STDs to donate blood. They said that it was very bad advice and that if people think they have an STD or other condition that they should address that condition before attempting to donate blood.”

Breathtaking: Liberal Calls Herman Cain ‘Minstrel,’ ‘Coon,’ ‘Sambo,’ ‘Monkey’ – but that definitely isn’t racist, because Liberals are the ones hurling the epithets. Here’s the speech that got them so angry.

(Canadian) Christians accused of participating in politics, influencing Conservative Party – Eek, right? As I’ve noted before, I’ll be they don’t apply this to theological Liberals who teach the opposite of the Bible (i.e., pro-legalized abortion, pro-“gay marriage,” etc.).

A sad abuse of power by former pro-abortion Kansas Governor (and now Obama’s Secretary of DHHS) Kathleen Sebelius and her appointees. They are trying to destroy former Attorney General and Johnson Co. District Attorney Phill Kline because of this:
When serving as Johnson Co. DA in 2007, Kline filed 107 criminal charges, including 23 felonies, against a Johnson Co. PP abortion mill for committing illegal late-term abortions and failing to report minor rapes. Since then 3 lower court judges have found probable cause for this case to move forward. It is still active.
Why are they doing this? It is a . . .
. . . massive attempt by PP and its corrupt political, high court, and media accomplices in KS to squash the investigation of PP that Kline initiated. To that end they are on a vendetta to kill Phill, professionally speaking, by attempting to remove his law license. Doing so, they hope, will scare off any other US prosecutors from coming after any nationwide PP, and it will also undermine the current case against PP in KS.

Another Marian Shrine Sanctioned by Rome – sadly, this one isn’t that Onion-esque.

“A budget that leaves out families is like a valentine that leaves out love” – Uh, yeah, because Jesus constantly taught that the definition of loving your neighbor was petitioning Caesar to take from neighbor A by force to give to neighbor B.

Soulforce director tags Christian teens for murder – how do you parody a “Christian” who thinks it is “hate speech” when someone wants to pray for you?

Democrats drag out Arthur the Aardvark to beg for continued funding of their media outlet – I am amazed that Liberals can defend the funding of PBS and NPR. Just imagine this scenario: There is no such thing as PBS or NPR, but President Bush and a Republican-controlled Congress decide that we need them. Would Liberals use all the same talking points to agree with that proposal? I rest my case.

Should Christians Have Tattoos?
Here is a self-exam based on the ideas put forth in Romans 14. These questions will help you decide whether or not getting a tattoo is a sin for you:
- How does my heart and my conscience convict me? Do I have freedom in Christ and a clear conscience before the Lord regarding the decision to get a tattoo?
- Am I passing judgment on a brother or sister because I don’t have freedom in Christ to receive a tattoo?
- Will I still want this tattoo years from now?
- Will my parents and family approve, and/or will my future spouse want me to have this tattoo?
- Will I cause a weaker brother to stumble if I receive a tattoo?
- Is my decision based on faith and will the result be glorifying to God?

Great commentary by The Other McCain about the tragedy of the assault of Lara Logan of CBS News while in Egypt. How can the feminists and other Liberals miss the obvious?
How often have Aayan Hirsi Ali and Phyllis Chesler warned feminists about the brutal subjugation of women in the Islamic world? Here we have that phenomenon distilled to its most raw and ugly essence, and what are feminists saying? Echidne of the Snakes is less concerned with the crime itself than with Internet comments.

Another lesson in the “Liberals are really bad at economics” series: Why are Egyptians wealthier in America than they are in Egypt?
What is necessary for wealth is a capitalist economy, that emphasizes the rule of law, private property, judicial restraint, limited government, etc. Egypt has none of those, and that’s why Egypt is poor. India and Chile used to be like Egypt, but then they revamped their societies to be more like America. Now India and Chile are more prosperous. Economics is not rocket science.
Capitalism creates wealth, and raises the standard of living of the poor and the wealthy. It doesn’t matter what rung of the social ladder someone is on – as long as they can keep what they earn, instead of having it redistributed by socialists, then they will work hard to create something of value to share with others. Poverty is caused by economic ignorance.
