Best. Pro-life ad. Ever. Don’t worry, it isn’t graphic.  But if you think the message is harsh, the reality is a million times worse.  Make it viral, please!  HT: Jill Stanek

“Only they’re not bunnies.” Priceless.  Hey, if they were bunnies, it would be illegal already.

Ask your Congressional representatives to de-fund PP now.  It isn’t just the abortions, it is the serial hiding of statutory rape and sex crimes.  Don’t listen to the fear-mongering about the other services they provide.  There are many places that can provide those that don’t commit the atrocities that PP does.

Barely twenty-four hours after her inauguration as America’s first woman chief executive, President Sarah Palin announced today that Attorney General Mark Levin has been instructed to stop defending Roe v. Wade and abortion in a wave of fresh lawsuits filed in federal courts around the country.

~Jeffrey Lord, American Spectator, February 24

From Jill Stanek’s quote of the day.  Those cheering Obama’s refusal to do his job and support the Defense of Marriage Act have no idea what precedent it sets.

Wisc. and Ind. Democrats: Union Cash Driving Democrats to Run and Hide

By far unions are the largest donors that Democrats have all up and down the line from local and state to federal. Unions spent over 50 million dollars on Barack Obama’s campaign back in 2008 and they spent another 50 million for the 2010 midterm elections.

Most specifically public employee unions are Democrats biggest supporters. In the last week of the 2010 election, for instance, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) spent over a million dollars to help elect Democrats. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) spent almost $400,000.

So when these Democrats run away and try to hide in a neighboring state it is because their biggest donors are demanding that they “do something.” And since Democrats in these states have lost all power due to the will of the voters, they feel that their last ability to stop legislation that hurts donor’s interests is to shut down government.

There is no parallel for this in the actions of Republicans who have spent decades as powerless onlookers in state government. No blocks of Republicans have run away like cowards to nearby states to avoid doing their jobs. Republicans have been essentially powerless in the face of unions since World War II yet in that almost 80-year span where Democrats have been in the pocket of Big Labor no blocks of Republicans have wallowed in such childish petulance. Republicans continued to go to work in their state capitols despite being virtually powerless to affect unions.

The insidiousness of media bias — Democrats, Media Keep ‘Birther’ Story Alive

The nagging issue of “Birthers” raises a chicken/egg question: It is an issue that lingers of its own accord, or does it linger because the media won’t let it go away?

Republicans appearing on cable to talk about important issues of the day — unemployment, the national debt, Egypt, Wisconsin, etc. — can bet the “Birther” question will come up. And there appears to be nothing a Republican can do to satisfy an interviewer on this question. It is not enough to state a belief in the president’s Christianity, or that one takes the president at his word. In question after question, interviewers call on Republicans to condemn, repeatedly, rumors they neither believe nor spread; then they condemn the condemnation for not being condemnatory enough.

And so the issue keeps coming up. It’s self-perpetuating. Twice in the past week, George Stephanopoulos has asked Republican guests on Good Morning America about it. David Gregory routinely does the same on Meet the Press.

I saw this comment that was trying to refute John’s excellent response to a HuffPo fluff piece by a false teacher promoting pro-gay theology:

Christians loudly opposing homosexuality are being really interrested in the personal sins of others, are they not? Or is it only a few particular sins, that they happen to be blameless for themselves? So, the question arises, are they doing what their religion demands of them? Wether christians should be good and forgiving people or should they be on the lookout for their “neighbours sins”? Is it really what Jesus demanded of them? If that is a part of being a christian, I am especially happy I am not one. It must be a burden to try and watch for ones fellow man, for him not to “sin” in his bedroom…

My response to the commenter:

Go check your history.  Was pro-gay theology the dominate view of the church for 2,000 and then these awful conservatives came along to try and change it?  Did both Christian and non-Christian cultures always celebrate (oxymoronic) “same-sex marriage” and then conservative Christians decided to change that?

Of course not.  The apostate pro-gay theologians brought it up and part of their playbook is acting like we’re the ones obsessed with it.

And when one of the logical consequences of making sexual preferences into civil rights is that young children will be forced to learn that these perversions are “normal,”  that is definitely worth fighting.

Lara Logan, Islam and Women’s Rights – Why the media silence on the Islamic gang-rapes?  Too scared to mention it?  Doesn’t fit in the the PC-memes?  Why aren’t the feminists going insane over this?  More from the Wintery Knight about the Koran’s teachings on this.

Roxanne On that whole “teachers work long hours during the school year” thing — Nice.

All Teachers Unions Must Fall, Not Just Wisconsin’s – just read it all.  Great overview of how awful they are and why they should be illegal.

We need more of this.  A CAIR spokesman trying to embarrass Congressman Allen West’s statements about Islam gets schooled in what the Koran really says.

From Jill Stanek, more about the core evil of Planned Parenthood:

Live Action reveals Planned Parenthood’s 2005 cover-up of the rape of an 11-year-old girl who didn’t want her parents to know. The girl’s letter was posted as a “testimonial” to PP’s help in a time of need, but was removed due to negative publicity. LA has the archive and screen shot.

PP is so thoroughly depraved that they didn’t see anything wrong with posting this on their website.

Bad news for PP (emphasis added):

Some have asked, are there real cases of this happening as well? The answer is yes. This post highlights the first of many real cases that we will be highlighting on the coming days.

More evil from the “we just want to help children (who are outside the womb)” pro-abort crowd: Kansas abortionists failed to report 398 potential cases of child rape: Phill Kline trial.  Oh, and that is 398 out of 400.  PP & Co. are trying to destroy Phill Kline for daring to investigate them, but this may come back to bite them.

Left-wing media silent on Afghan Christian’s impending execution

A terrible drama is unfolding in Afghanistan: There are reports that Said Musa, whose situation I described at Christmas, will soon be executed for the ‘crime’ of choosing to become a Christian. (For background, see here.)

. . .

It’s instructive to consider the types of victims that the left wing-media covers. There were thousands of stories about Matthew Sheppard and Rodney King. But almost no stories at all about Said Musa. I wonder why that is?

Is the White House Helping to Orchestrate a National Union Uprising? You be the Judge

Last week, we learned that the Democrat National Committees’s Organizing for America has been orchestrating and mobilizing the protests going on in Wisconsin. This week, unions across the country are marching on state capitols to show their “solidarity.”

Today, we learn that top AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka is visiting the White House two to three times per week and speaking with someone in the White House everyday.

Follow the Money: What the Wisconsin Education Association Isn’t Talking About – it isn’t just the union dues they are fighting to protect, but insurance fees as well.  These union monopolies need to go.

The Last Refuge Of The Progressives – Civility: Still a one-way street.

One of the first people who should take up sabbatical there would be Democrat Representative Michael Capuano from The Peoples Democracy of Massachusetts. He spoke in front of a group of striking workers in Wisconsin. These were the people carrying pictures claiming the new governor and Hitler were separated at birth. The same people carried signs showing Scott Walker’s head in the crosshairs. The same people carrying signs claiming that they were here to gang-bang Fox News anchors – the way Lara Logan got handled in Egypt. These are same workers who are making death threats against Ann Althouse for covering their activities in Madison, WI. Here’s the wit and wisdom that the Congressman had to offer.

“Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”

Remind Me Again Why We Need Domestic Oil Production? The Democrats are so short-sighted in caving to the Green movement.  There are many things we could have done years ago to have more domestic production now.  The next best time to drill more here would be today.

When gas prices spiked in 2005-2006 there were calls from around the country to “Drill Here, Drill Now.” Unfortunately when prices dropped so did the will of the American people to push Congress and their state politicians to follow through on the promises of domestic oil production. Luckily, one “benefit” of the recession was a drop in demand for oil and oil products around the world. The poor economy, and lack of demand around the world are really the only reasons we have been paying relatively consistent and fairly reasonable gas prices over the past couple of years.

Now, as we wind our way through the delicate beginnings of a very timid economic recovery we are again faced with rising crude oil prices – at one of the worst possible times. As China and the rest of the developing world continue to grow their economies the demand for oil will certainly increase. Europe seems to be recovering in some ways and many areas of South America never stopped growing. Any of these factors alone contribute to the demand for oil and increasing prices at the pump. Instead of just one reason for increasing prices we have multiple factors all contributing to what may cause another huge economic dip.

Now, two years into this administration, at a time when we were supposed to be generating green power, driving electric vehicles, and generally fulfilling the environmentalists’ dreams, we are stuck. We have wasted almost four years that could have been put toward developing our own domestic energy supplies. Not only did we fail to increase domestic oil production but due to Obama Administration policies – we have been refusing to issue drilling permits and shutting down existing production in other areas.

Roundup of stories you’ll wish were from The Onion (Kudos to uber-commenter Roxanne for inspiring the subtitle)

Planned Parenthood staffer caught advising ‘pimp’ with possible STD to donate blood – your tax dollars at work!

The full footage of the exchange between a Live Action undercover reporter and Planned Parenthood staff member in Roanoke revealed Planned Parenthood’s unusual STD screening recommendation.

After the “pimp” expresses concern that he might have contracted an STD, the staff member advises, “for peace of mind, go donate blood – cause if you go donate blood, they have to test for everything anyway. And you know, a lot of plasma places, they’ll test you for free … And they pay you for your plasma. You know what I mean?”

The staff member also indicates that this is something she tells “a lot of people.”

In a blog entry posted yesterday on the organization’s website, Live Action CFO and Media Director David Schmidt writes, “Today I called a couple blood donation centers and asked them if was good advice for people who think they might have STDs to donate blood. They said that it was very bad advice and that if people think they have an STD or other condition that they should address that condition before attempting to donate blood.”

Breathtaking: Liberal Calls Herman Cain ‘Minstrel,’ ‘Coon,’ ‘Sambo,’ ‘Monkey’ – but that definitely isn’t racist, because Liberals are the ones hurling the epithets.  Here’s the speech that got them so angry.

(Canadian) Christians accused of participating in politics, influencing Conservative Party – Eek, right?  As I’ve noted before, I’ll be they don’t apply this to theological Liberals who teach the opposite of the Bible (i.e., pro-legalized abortion, pro-“gay marriage,” etc.).

A sad abuse of power by former pro-abortion Kansas Governor (and now Obama’s Secretary of DHHS) Kathleen Sebelius and her appointees.  They are trying to destroy former Attorney General and Johnson Co. District Attorney Phill Kline because of this:

When serving as Johnson Co. DA in 2007, Kline filed 107 criminal charges, including 23 felonies, against a Johnson Co. PP abortion mill for committing illegal late-term abortions and failing to report minor rapes. Since then 3 lower court judges have found probable cause for this case to move forward. It is still active.

Why are they doing this?  It is a . . .

. . . massive attempt by PP and its corrupt political, high court, and media accomplices in KS to squash the investigation of PP that Kline initiated. To that end they are on a vendetta to kill Phill, professionally speaking, by attempting to remove his law license. Doing so, they hope, will scare off any other US prosecutors from coming after any nationwide PP, and it will also undermine the current case against PP in KS.

Also see Paranoia at Planned Parenthood (Subtitle: “Yea!”)

Defund Planned Parenthood now.

Another Marian Shrine Sanctioned by Rome – sadly, this one isn’t that Onion-esque.

“A budget that leaves out families is like a valentine that leaves out love” – Uh, yeah, because Jesus constantly taught that the definition of loving your neighbor was petitioning Caesar to take from neighbor A by force to give to neighbor B.

Soulforce director tags Christian teens for murder – how do you parody a “Christian” who thinks it is “hate speech” when someone wants to pray for you?

Democrats drag out Arthur the Aardvark to beg for continued funding of their media outlet – I am amazed that Liberals can defend the funding of PBS and NPR.  Just imagine this scenario: There is no such thing as PBS or NPR, but President Bush and a Republican-controlled Congress decide that we need them.  Would Liberals use all the same talking points to agree with that proposal?  I rest my case.

Should Christians Have Tattoos?

Here is a self-exam based on the ideas put forth in Romans 14. These questions will help you decide whether or not getting a tattoo is a sin for you:

  1. How does my heart and my conscience convict me? Do I have freedom in Christ and a clear conscience before the Lord regarding the decision to get a tattoo?
  2. Am I passing judgment on a brother or sister because I don’t have freedom in Christ to receive a tattoo?
  3. Will I still want this tattoo years from now?
  4. Will my parents and family approve, and/or will my future spouse want me to have this tattoo?
  5. Will I cause a weaker brother to stumble if I receive a tattoo?
  6. Is my decision based on faith and will the result be glorifying to God?

Great commentary by The Other McCain about the tragedy of the assault of Lara Logan of CBS News while in Egypt.  How can the feminists and other Liberals miss the obvious?

How often have Aayan Hirsi Ali and Phyllis Chesler warned feminists about the brutal subjugation of women in the Islamic world? Here we have that phenomenon distilled to its most raw and ugly essence, and what are feminists saying? Echidne of the Snakes is less concerned with the crime itself than with Internet comments.

Another lesson in the “Liberals are really bad at economics” series: Why are Egyptians wealthier in America than they are in Egypt?

What is necessary for wealth is a capitalist economy, that emphasizes the rule of law, private property, judicial restraint, limited government, etc. Egypt has none of those, and that’s why Egypt is poor. India and Chile used to be like Egypt, but then they revamped their societies to be more like America. Now India and Chile are more prosperous. Economics is not rocket science.

Capitalism creates wealth, and raises the standard of living of the poor and the wealthy. It doesn’t matter what rung of the social ladder someone is on – as long as they can keep what they earn, instead of having it redistributed by socialists, then they will work hard to create something of value to share with others. Poverty is caused by economic ignorance.
