Schadenfreude, sweet schadenfreude

Alternate title: Mugged by reality.

This has been the best week in politics in the last 5 years. I’m not glad that the Obama administration did all these illegal and unethical things. We knew they were doing them (for those who actually research these sort of things, he did them long before running for President). But now the few excesses that have gone public are so egregious that even Socialists like Stewart can’t deny them. If anyone thinks that the scandals are only limited to what we know about Benghazi, the IRS, AP, Fast and Furious, etc., then they are still part of the problem. (Oh, and the fact that they are still on the record for unrestricted, taxpayer-funded baby killing and their wildly anti-family and anti-Christian policies is no coincidence.) The administration is still trying out their Excuse of the Day (yesterday day was, “We’re not corrupt, just incompetent!”). I think they are corrupt and incompetent, but whichever lane they pick we have a solid argument against them.  Don’t give up.

But this isn’t just about Obama and his over-the-top corrupt administration, it is about big government. It is inherently inefficient and can’t be trusted, so you must limit it.  Don’t run against Obama, run against big government and Liberalism.

P.S. How many of these scandals were President Bush’s fault?!

Increased unemployment, need for food stamps and other ills are design features of Obama’s policies, not bugs

If you don’t know what I mean by referring to Cloward & Piven and still support Obama, you are a big part of the problem. You really need to expand your media horizons and stop trusting the Liberal media.

If you know what I mean by referring to Cloward & Piven and still support Obama, you are a big part of the problem.

Via First-Hand Report on Obama’s Columbia Milieu:

The plan was revolting, but brilliant. Cloward & Piven taught that America could only be destroyed from within. Only by overwhelming the system with debt, welfare, and entitlements could capitalism and the America economy be destroyed. So the plan was to make a majority of Americans dependent on welfare, food stamps, disability, unemployment, and entitlements of all kinds. Then, under the weight of the debt, the system would implode and the economy collapse, bankrupting business owners (i.e. conservative donors). Americans would be brought to their knees, begging for big government to save them. Voila — you’d have a new system — socialism!

This is not a conspiracy theory.  All the information is readily available in many sources, but the Liberal media refuses to report on it.  Obama and Hillary were both deeply influenced by these strategies.  It isn’t that they are surprised that their policies aren’t working, they know they won’t work.  At least they won’t work to solve the problems people care about, like unemployment.  They will work to destroy the country and pave the way for full-blown Socialism.

I would love to put polygraphs on the false teaching theological Liberals and see if they are ignorant of Cloward & Piven, which would be pretty bad, or if they know of the plan and approve of it, which would be even worse.

Is this Planned Parenthood representative extra-evil, or just remarkably consistent?

Planned Parenthood kills babies for a living, they systematically hide statutory rape and sex trafficking, they encourage kids to have all sorts of out-of-wedlock sex and pretend that it can be done without risks, and so much more.  Yet one of their representatives managed to shock people during a public hearing. Watch it yourself:

She and Planned Parenthood, like Barack Obama before her, are fighting the restrictions against withholding medical care and killing infants who survive abortions.  She specifically says that the decision regarding what to do about the baby on the table is between the mother and the “healthcare provider.”  (She initially said the family, then thought better of those implications and reverted to just the mother later in her testimony).  And while this question may not have been asked, presumably she would insist that taxpayers fund the killing of the baby on the table.

Apparently the horrors of being a little too far away from a hospital were too much for Planned Parenthood to take, so speaking like Dr. Nick Riviera of The Simpsons, just to be on the safe side they need to be allowed to kill the baby.

Of course it is spectacularly evil to withhold care or directly kill a baby on a table.  Just because the abortionist failed on the first try doesn’t mean he deserves a second shot.  Anyone without a warped moral compass would agree.  But who are the inconsistent ones?  I submit that she is entirely consistent with the Democrats’ platform of abortions without restrictions, funded by taxpayers.

Remember, the successful abortion would have had the mother and child in the same room, with an irrelevant change in the distance between them.  Everyone in the video seems to concede that.  This Planned Parenthood representative would have been entirely consistent in saying the following (channeling Hillary Clinton):

With all due respect, the fact is we end up with a dead baby who wasn’t wanted by her mother. Was it because she was killed slightly inside the mother or slightly outside? What difference at this point does it make?

And she would be right.  While killing the baby on the table seems worse, it is morally equal to the abortion.  (Speaking of red equal signs . . .)

And if those babies can be killed, why not any baby delivered naturally?

Great message about why we shouldn’t modify worship services to meet the alleged desires of the unsaved.

God was exposing a lie that had held us captive for years.  He was proving that his Word is fully sufficient, and that true converts thirst for it like a desert thirsts for rain.  Many who had grown up in the faith had hearts that were calloused toward the Truth.  Years of comfortable church had led them to hear the Word but excuse themselves from practicing it, steadily becoming self-deceived.  They projected this hard-heartedness onto newcomers, like the kids in the old Life Cereal commercials:  “Try teaching that to Mikey the Seeker – he HATES everything… Heyyyy…  Mikey LIKES it!”  Unfortunately, some never noticed or accepted that new believers were craving pure spiritual milk and even graduating to meat ahead of them.

The Sunday School class at the church we joined last year spent 3 years going verse by verse through 1 Peter.  A recipe for boredom and a shrinking class, right?  Hardly.  It grew like crazy, attracting high school kids (including my daughters) up to retired people.  Real believers want real Bible teaching.  You can tell how much confidence people have in the word of God and its power by how they treat it in sermons and lessons.

The one-size-fits-all response to Obama and his supporters when they complain about the Republican House preventing them from doing something: “You had two years of a Congress with sizable Democratic majorities, plus the momentum from your election win.  If raising taxes [or whatever else they are complaining about] was so important, why didn’t you do it then?”

—–

Atheist Jerry Coyne was so quick to dismiss the fact that Darwinian philosophy was at the root of the Columbine shootings that he said this in light of the latest events in Colorado.

Of course there was no evidence at all that Darwinism or evolution had motivated the shooters. They were disaffected and troubled boys who, thanks to America’s lax gun laws, were able to acquire an arsenal of firearms.

But as the facts show, Coyne was completely wrong.  But he is totally accurate on all of his science and never lets his ideology get in the way, right?

It was amusing to read the anti-gun rhetoric of his followers.  The survival-of-the-fittest types can’t go three sentences without contradicting themselves.

—–

Does it bother any of Obama’s supporters that he has an enemies list and that at least one person on it is now under audit from the IRS and the Labor Department?

—–

Did the mainstream media tell you about the woman killed during an abortion at Planned Parenthood, along with her child?  “Safe and legal” only applies to the leaders of PP and their protection from accountability for countless acts of hiding statutory rape.

—–

I’ve yet to find one of the anti-gun politicians or false teachers who isn’t pro-legalized abortion.  And I’m pretty sure they are all pro-taxpayer-funded abortion, meaning that they think our country would be better if only more unwanted human beings were destroyed in the womb.

My question for them: Would they switch to opposing abortion if the “doctors” used guns instead of knives?

—–

The #1 thing to remember in the gun control debate: Criminals don’t obey gun control laws.

Methodists in Northeast Approve Pro-Gay Resolution – The Methodist Church in the U.S. is doomed. The non-Christians outnumber the Christians in this conference. Worse yet, even in a conservative area like the Texas Conference the non-Christians are able to keep Bible-believing and Book of Disciple-following pastors from becoming Bishop — and solely because they hold a biblical view of homosexuality.

While I’d love to blame the non-Christians in the denomination for this, it is really the fault of the squishy Bible-believing leaders and members who didn’t have the faith and courage to exercise church discipline and remove false teachers. Appeasement is deadly, not loving.  Sadly, some Bible-believers have learned that the hard way.  Appeasing doesn’t increase your odds of getting promoted, it just makes it 100% likely that you’ve sacrificed your principles and stopped preaching the whole counsel of God.

—–

Leonard Pitts is a racist.  He thinks blacks and Hispanics are too helpless to obtain voter ID, even though they must provide identification for countless other daily activities.  And my guess is that he is pro-legalized abortion, which currently kills blacks at a rate 3x that of whites and Hispanics at a rate 2x that of whites. And those rates will increase as the Liberal dream of taxpayer-funded abortions increases.  Seems kinda racist to me.

The real outsourcing

Barack Obama is trying to appeal to people’s concerns about job outsourcing by making distorted attacks against Mitt Romney’s business record.  But I hope this backfires on him as his other attacks have thus far.  Consider these facts.

1. GE, one of Obama’s non-tax-paying cronies, is moving its x-ray division headquarters from Wisconsin to China. That’s one of many examples.

2. Tax rates are often bigger drivers than wage rates.  When Compaq shipped tons of jobs to Singapore in the 90′s it was because of Singapore’s tax rates.  I know, because I did many of the financial analyses.  Democrats have done nothing to make our tax rates more competitive.

3. The real problem with outsourcing isn’t that the jobs shift geographies but that they shift from citizens/taxpayers to non-citizens/non-taxpayers.  Therefore, illegal immigration is the ultimate catalyst for losing jobs.  Yet Obama has done everything he can to buy more votes by losing more jobs for his citizens.

4. Unions make U.S. businesses less competitive and foreign goods more attractive.

5. The anti-drilling Democrats send countless high paying jobs overseas, and most “Green” jobs have gone to other countries.

6. Oppressive and unworkable regulations like the Dodd-Frank bill and Obamacare make it more enticing for companies to move jobs.

Vote Republican to keep more jobs here.  More jobs here = less unemployment = more taxpayers = less people receiving benefits.

Questions to ask the Occupy Wall Street crowd

Wow, these people are the gift that keeps on giving!  The contrasts to the Tea Party couldn’t be more glaring.  We could run these 24×7 for the next year.

And here’s another set of . . . uh . . . well-informed critics who are not sure if Al Qaeda is Worse than Evangelical Christians.

Then there are these jewels about Communism.

In a better world the mainstream media would ask these fairly obvious questions.

1. What percentage of total income tax receipts should the top 1% of earners pay?  Now, they might say something silly like 100%, because their overriding motive seems to be coveting.  But it would be interesting to see if they would say a figure higher than 38% (the actual amount).

2. Did you know that Barack Obama got 20% of his record 2008 contributions from Wall Street?  Did you know that he is the largest recipient of Wall Street donations ever?  Did you vote for him?  Will you vote for him again?

3. Do you approve of violent means to make the top 1% pay their “fair share” and/or to overturn capitalism?

Dear OWS folks: Please, please, please don’t go away.  The more attention we get on you the better.  Nothing could advance conservatism faster than people learning more about you.

Queue the Marie Antoinette reference

Just wondering . . . why does Michelle Obama have a record number of attendants (60% more than Laura Bush) at the same time that America has a record number of people on welfare?

And why is she compounding this by pretending to be a regular person shopping at Target?  See Isn’t This Precious…FLOTUS Michelle Antoinette Pretends to be One of the Common Folk.

Here’s the most insulting thing: She is pretending to be incognito, what with her “plain” outfit (which probably cost over $1,000), hat and glasses.  But if this was so undercover, why was there a professional photographer standing there?  Did anyone notice the Secret Service people?  They obviously have contempt for their supporters, otherwise they would never plan such a thing.  Anyone thinking this wasn’t staged shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Of course, the Houston Chronicle ran this photo in a fluff piece this morning.

And why isn’t the media raging about this waste and hypocrisy?

Answer: The media died in 2008.

President declares deviance month

See Sanity In An Upside Down World: President Obama’s Annual Declaration of Perversion, where Glenn does a great job of going through each line of the President’s following declaration:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2011 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.

Yes, you read that correctly.  The leader of the free world wants us to celebrate the diversity of sin, all the while assuring us that he is a Christian (one of those Christians who, among other things, finds the Book of Romans to be obscure).

The Other McCain had a thoughtful commentary as well in Do You Sometimes Find Yourself Wishing That You Could Arrive At Some Wholly New Form Of Depravity?

Truly, I wish that sexuality could remain private. Certainly not a federal political matter. But since the month of June has to find itself turned into a public celebration of something that, in my opinion, has no business being public (hetero or otherwise), the thought of having a month devoted to my own personal pecadillos sounds kind of interesting.  Is the world ready for some kind of bagpipe-driven, zombie apocalypse orgy of falsehood? Pecca Fortiter, said Luther. Let’s start by taking Luther out of context, shall we? Let’s just drive our culture off the cliff, Thelma and Louise style, full tilt boogie, right into hell. I mean, let’s just crank up the volume on the sin so badly that lesbians, gay, bisexuals, and transgender folks are stunned into a silent Puritanism by comparison. I bet if we get sufficiently weird, the President will award us two months.  Because that would be cool.

More for the “What if Sarah Palin had said this” files

I’m sympathetic to politicians having slips of the tongue.  The more you talk or write, the more likely it is that you’ll make a mistake and say something foolish.  So when Barack Obama wrote something today and dated it May 24, 2008 I couldn’t have cared less.  (See Obama is Stuck in a Moment | Verum Serum.)

But what I do care about is the media and the Left, who would have mocked Sarah Palin until their throats were raw if she had done the same thing.  Think of the things they give Obama a pass on:

Not since his visit to 57 states has the One done something quite as guffaw-inducing. Sure, his attempt to enter the Oval Office window was a laugh and his invention of an Austrian language was telling but nothing says “out of touch” like not knowing what year it is. And he didn’t just miss it by one either . . .

His list is huge, but you never catch these repeated ad nauseum on SNL, the Daily Show, MSNBC, etc. as “evidence” of how stupid he is, but people still whale on Palin for a botched interview done several years ago.

I wish people would remember why we elect Presidents: They appoint Supreme Court and Federal.  They make decisions about war.  And so on.  We don’t need to agree with every last detail with them and we don’t have to like everything they’ve ever done.

P.S. Good timing — just saw this on a Wintery Knight comment thread by WK himself:

So we have yet to hear anything about Sarah Palin’s intelligence or policies, except the name-calling, which might have been learned from watching the Comedy Channel and listening to comedians, who also do not know anything about her intelligence or policies, but only exist to make people laugh at people who are not present to defend themselves.

In the meantime, we have the positive case for Palin’s intelligence:
http://dailycaller.com/2011/05/23/the-myth-of-sarah-palins-stupidity/

And we also know that many people who laughed at Palin voted for Obama and are no unemployed, and their children are going to be crushed by trillions and trillions of dollars of spending that actually LOST over 500 thousand jobs, according to the recent study by two economists.

The “birthers” and the race card

I never cared about the birther issue.  I find it unproductive and annoying.  But Stan had a good post about motives. It reminded me of how quick the race industry*used the “birther” issue to paint Obama’s critics as racists.  But that means Hillary Clinton’s supporters, Michelle Obama, and the ambassador from Kenya were racists first.

group of disgruntled Hillary Clinton enthusiasts started the “Was Obama born in the United States?” question thing. It was fed by comments from people like the president’s grandmother who said he was born in Kenya and Michelle Obama who referred to Kenya as his “home country“. It wasn’t helpful when the ambassador from Kenya said that the president was born there. All of this fed the “birther” idea. Now, let me say up front that I am not a “birther”. To me it’s a moot point. I just don’t care. But what has fascinated me in this whole discussion has been the claims of motivationfrom the president’s supporters. You see, even though it was people from his Secretary of State that started the question and even though it was people like his wife, grandmother, and the Kenyan ambassador that fueled it, it appears that the only possible motivation for “birthers” is racism. That’s right. No one could suggest this stuff if they weren’t racists at heart. And without even batting an eye, the secret motivations of the heart have been easily and cleanly extracted and shown for all to view.

Anyone using the birther issue as a claim of racism against Republicans is ignorant of the origins and/or the real racist, who uses race to divide people.

More about Herman Cain

Since Herman Cain is all black, will his Democratic critics automatically be considered racist for not wanting him to be President?  Can they only handle someone who is half-black?

I couldn’t care less about the skin color of Cain or Obama.  I just know that Cain would be a vastly superior leader.  Obama is destroying this country.

Waterboarding = really, really bad. Shooting unarmed man in the face = really, really good.

At least that’s what Liberal-speak would have you believe.

To make matters worse, the only reason they were able to find the unarmed man to shoot him in the face was because of waterboarding.  They don’t seem bothered by that ethical dilemma, nor do they seem inclined to give credit to President Bush, whose policies were what led to this.

If you Ever Wondered How The Taking Out Of Osama Would Have Been Viewed By The Self Appointed American “Conscious” If Bush Were In Office?, then click the link and wonder no more.

P.S. I don’t object to the shooting, given the circumstances.  I just don’t see why President Obama is running around like he was the SEAL who did the hard work.  And I really don’t understand the hypocrisy of his fans.

P.S.S. Aside from his “gutsy call,” why on earth did the administration divulge that they had found information on Bin Laden’s computers?  That disclosure had to be one of the most childish, bone-headed moves ever.  It may have made them look good for a day, but the information would have been much more valuable if we had kept it a secret.

Are you ready to be a leader? Some excellent questions. Samples below.  Go read ‘em all.

2. Do you retain control of yourself when things go wrong? The leader who loses self-control in testing circumstances forfeits respect and loses influence. He must be calm in crisis and resilient in adversity and disappointment.

3. Do you think independently? While using to the full the thought of others, the leader cannot afford to let others do his thinking or make his decisions for him.

4. Can you handle criticism objectively and remain unmoved under it? Do you turn it to good account? The humble man can derive benefit from petty and even malicious criticism.

5. Do you possess the ability to secure discipline without having to resort to a show of authority? True leadership is an internal quality of the spirit and requires no external show of force.

Obama Gets Heckled, Then Lies About Republican Support for Global AIDS Funding – I have a video on my iPhone of a World Vision employee going on and on about how much he likes President Bush.

In fact, President Bush was credited for huge contributions to fighting AIDS in Africa going back to 2003. The Washington Post noted that he had tripled funding by 2006. The AP lauded Bush’s efforts in this regard. The Telegraph called him “an African hero.” The BBC suggested Bush may have been the continent’s best friend. Scientific studies showed the Bush initiated program had reduced the mortality rate by 10%, amounting to hundreds of thousands of lives worldwide.

Why doesn’t the church address the issue of modesty? – Great question and answers by Randy Alcorn.  Read it all.

I’m all for sex and I think it’s great for a woman to be sexy with one person—her husband. The irony is there are cases where women have gotten so used to appearing sexy in public yet actually have no sexual relationship with their own husbands. So we have two issues going on related to the issue of modesty—modesty in public, and modesty when the Body of Christ is assembled. And this latter one is huge.

. . .

As for the part of the question asking why this is not being addressed like it should be in churches, I believe the answer is fear. I think there are many pastors and church leaders, who, like many husbands and fathers, are afraid to speak up for fear of offending women who are fashion-conscious. Some women think that to be fashionable, you have to have outfits that are sexy—including the split skirts, the very tight skirts and pants, and low-cut tops. All of these things send a message to men, and pastors are very self-conscious about speaking up because they think,There are women who will think I am a pervert for even mentioning this. “Oh, is that what the pastor is thinking about when he’s up front?”

It’s a difficult situation, but it’s an issue I believe male leaders of the home and church need the courage to speak up about and address directly. We also need godly women (especially godly women who can be reasonably fashionable and attractive in the right sense of attractive—not sexually attractive) who will lovingly challenge other women and let them know they are sending a wrong message. And if they don’t care about the message they’re sending, then something’s really wrong and they need to repent. We need open, clear discussions about this so women can become aware and understand the issue.

Double bad news: Obamacare causes Scranton hospitals to close (where will the employees of The Office go now?!) and more importantly, was this another case of thuggery by the Obama administration to silence yet another dissenter?  Free speech?  What’s that?

Notice that he said ObamaCare was “absolutely” related to the desire to sell now.

But within 48 hours the same CEO had released two new statements, one omitting any reference to ObamaCare and a second claiming his videotaped words had somehow been taken out of context.

More than a litter bit of difference – Uh, if the Greens are on the Left why was there so much litter after their big D.C. event and so little after the conservative one?

Racist-in-chief tells crowd that Republicans are “counting on black folks staying home” on Nov. 2.  Oh, what a uniter!  I’m all tingly.  Seriously, he says things like that and thinks Tea Partiers are the racists?

Black Republicans offer hope after Barack Obama’s failures on race – Yea!  One of the brothers at the Kairos prison ministry weekend I just finished confided to me that he opposes Obama and thinks it is terrible that so many people rely on the government to take care of them.  He can’t wait to get out and work hard.  Oh, and he’s black.  And he had no idea of what my political views were.  Good for him!

Handwriting on the wall for churches who “discriminate” — if you are the lukewarm type, you may want to find a new religion now.  (Side note: Why don’t the mainline religions swap the Bible-believers for non-Bible believers?  After all, why quibble about denominational differences if you can’t even agree that Jesus is God, He’s the only way to salvation, etc.)

When a B.C. couple discovered that the fetus their surrogate mother was carrying was likely to be born with Down syndrome, they wanted an abortion. The surrogate, however, was determined to take the pregnancy to term, sparking a disagreement that has raised thorny questions about the increasingly common arrangements.

QUESTION: What do you think about making “eliminating the Department of Education” a 2012 election issue? – I love it.

Amazing – ABC does fluff piece about how peaceful, moderate Muslims are the first line of defense against terrorists.  Two problems:

  1. That is ludicrous.
  2. Their “moderate” Muslim was anything but.

Nice investigation, guys.  So sad that many people actually consider you a news organization and don’t consume any conservative views.
